Excelsior Road from TH 371 to west of Edgewood Drive, including the Edgewood Drive intersection, will be closed beginning Monday, July 16th at 7:00 a.m. for construction of the CenterPoint Energy gas line and new curb and gutter in conjunction with the 2018 Excelsior Road and Edgewood Drive Improvement Project. This section of roadway will be closed for approximately 2 weeks and is planned to be back open by Friday, July 27th at 5:00 p.m.

Access to local businesses will be maintained during the closure. The primary access to the area will be through the TH 371 and Design Drive intersection. Traffic destined to or from Excelsior Road to the west will need to use the detour route on TH 210 to Inglewood Drive. Traffic exiting the area to the north will need to use Edgewood Drive to Woida Road. The attached map shows the section of roadway to be closed with the primary entry and exiting movements.

A signed detour route for through traffic will be provided using T.H. 371, Design Drive, Edgewood Drive, Woida Road, T.H. 210 and Inglewood Drive. Please drive with caution in the work zone area or plan an alternative route and avoid the construction area if possible.
