Seasonal Park Attendant
This position is responsible for providing the users of the City’s park system with safe, properly maintained, and high-quality facilities. This position is responsible for enforcing park and beach rules, performing general cleaning and light maintenance of park grounds and facilities, promoting safety and responding to and providing assistance in cases of injuries or water rescue attempts. Must possess a valid class D Minnesota’s driver’s license and a high school diploma or MN accredited GED or currently enrolled as a student. Starting wage is $10 per hour. Assistant City Engineer
The City of Baxter (POP. 8,318) is part of the Baxter/Brainerd Micropolitan Statistical Area that has a population of over 91,000. Baxter, a regional center located in the heart of the central lakes area of Minnesota, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant City Engineer. The primary responsibilities for this position are for activities associated with municipal engineering, which includes but is not limited to the supervision and coordination of staff and consultants on the Engineering Division’s daily operations; design and construction management of public improvement projects; oversight of the City’s MS4 and pavement management programs; review and process residential, commercial, and industrial building permits and development agreements; provide engineering guidance on planning and building department submittals; and handle resident inquiries.
Minimum requirements are bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an EIT Certificate; ability to become a Minnesota State Licensed Professional Civil Engineer within one year of date of hire; one to three years of experience working in municipal engineering, including a minimum of one year of experience supervising employees; ability to obtain Minnesota MS4 required certifications within one year of the date of hire; working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD 3D Design, and ArcView; and must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
