Warming House Attendant
The City of Baxter will be hiring part-time seasonal warming house attendants to join our team of dedicated, hardworking staff. Warming house attendants are responsible to provide leadership, enforce rules, and implement safe recreation both on the rinks and in the warming house.
Minimum requirements are: 1) must possess a valid MN driver’s license or have the ability to obtain a license prior to employment; 2) 16 years of age or older; 3) possess a high school diploma, its equivalent, or currently enrolled; and 4) experience in outdoor recreational facilities.
Starting pay is $10.50 per hour. The start and end date of this seasonal position is dependent upon the weather. The season is expected to start around December 22, 2018 and end around March 17, 2019. Assistant City Engineer
The City of Baxter (POP. 8,318) is part of the Baxter/Brainerd Micropolitan Statistical Area that has a population of over 91,000. Baxter, a regional center located in the heart of the central lakes area of Minnesota, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant City Engineer. The primary responsibilities for this position are for activities associated with municipal engineering, which includes but is not limited to the supervision and coordination of staff and consultants on the Engineering Division’s daily operations; design and construction management of public improvement projects; oversight of the City’s MS4 and pavement management programs; review and process residential, commercial, and industrial building permits and development agreements; provide engineering guidance on planning and building department submittals; and handle resident inquiries.
Minimum requirements are bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an EIT Certificate; ability to become a Minnesota State Licensed Professional Civil Engineer within one year of date of hire; one to three years of experience working in municipal engineering, including a minimum of one year of experience supervising employees; ability to obtain Minnesota MS4 required certifications within one year of the date of hire; working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD 3D Design, and ArcView; and must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
